Vice-chancellors tasked to lobby for better internet access

To strengthen national research and education networks, a meeting was hosted by the Association of African Universities (AAU) on 21-22 February in Nairobi, Kenya.  The article placed emphasis on the fact that Vice-chancellors have a vital advocacy role to play in promoting national research and education networks (NRENs), to advance the digital transformation strategies of African universities.

They cannot “be spectators” in the development of these networks that are critical for learning, teaching, research, and collaborations between institutions in Africa and between Africa and universities across the world.
