Reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor, the Director: Quality Assurance and Compliance will be responsible for leading, coordinating, and over
seeing the University’s quality assurance framework to ensure academic excellence, compliance with regulatory requirements, and continuous im
provement in institutional products, services and delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, implement, and review the University’s Quality Assurance policies, systems, and procedures
- Ensure compliance with national, regional, and international accreditation and regulatory standards
- Coordinate programme accreditation, reviews, audits, and institutional evaluations
- Promote a culture of quality enhancement across academic and administrative units
- Monitor and evaluate teaching, learning, research, and assessment standards
- Provide advisory support to the Senate, Management, and academic units on quality-related matters
- Prepare and submit quality assurance reports to internal and external stakeholders
- Lead capacity-building initiatives on quality assurance for staff
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
A Doctoral degree in Education, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
- A recognized professional teaching qualification, such as a Postgraduate Certificate in Education {PGCE) or a Postgraduate Diploma in Education
{PGDE) is preferred for this role. The position is pivotal in advancing the professionalization of university teaching and learning by focusing on the
art and science of education {including pedagogy, andragogy, and heutagogy) and enhancing how students engage with content and access knowl
edge both within and beyond the classroom. - A minimum of five years’ experience in quality assurance within a higher education institution
- Strong knowledge of higher education accreditation and regulatory frameworks
- Proven leadership, strategic planning, and report-writing skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
- Membership of a relevant professional body will be an added advantage
- Knowledge of and experience in the Times Higher Education assessment procedure and rankings
